Hello there curious Deviant! :iconmeowfaceplz:

So you are reading this now because you are either suffering from very few notice or exposure and feedback, or you are curious to increase your popularity, and get more viewers. Or maybe you just came here from your inbox, and you are real pissed, then don't be, this Journal will help You more than it would help me.

Being a known Artist here on Da is a challenge,  but once you accomplish that you are rewarded with quite a great things. The success of getting yourself or work noticed is dependable on many factors, and I will list those briefly so you can have a general Idea:

:bulletblue: One of the major factors of being known here is the Deviations themselves, nobody wants to watch a person who does nothing but commenting for example, upload some deviations, if you can't draw upload photographs, if that's even hard then submit a story or Poem. And keep your submissions organized and steady, never go out in regular inactive sessions.

:bulletblue: Always interact, you can't just upload Awesome Deviation and expect people to just come and fav your work. You have to work and earn the feedback of people, by both doing a great quality work and interacting with the community.

:bulletblue: Groups are a very good place to start from, you are already in this group so that is a good sign. Groups helps gather Artists with similar interests and showcase their Artworks, If you are good enough you might interest much of your peers and you will end up with a bulk amount of Watchers.

:bulletblue: Forums are a great place to find people, go there and post a couple threads, engage in discussions and be yourself. But be warned, never spam, otherwise you are risking a stain to your reputation and a possible Ban.

:bulletblue: Help out people, if you are a skilled Deviant then invest some time in lesser Deviants, fav their work, comment and tell them how to get better, even watch them if you think they got potential, you will never know how much people will be watching you back.

:bulletblue: Do Trades, Collabs, And Requests. These activities will bring in loyal friends and watchers, and leave Commissions aside for a while, and making money as well, you have to focus on making a name for yourself and you can't do that by charging people lots of money for a mediocre work.

:bulletblue: Share your DeviantART page out of DeviantART, make youtube videos, drawing tutorials, and even telling your real life friends and family about it!

Those should be enough to get you started! :iconsmile--plz:
Now onto the next part, stuff that you need to Aviod:

:bulletred: Never spam the forums or Groups with your promotional comments and links, nobody loves that and you might end up getting frowned upon.

:bulletred: Never Randomly comment on Artworks without looking at them, that is spam as well and none likes a spammer.

:bulletred: Don't be mean or even Arrogant, DA is no place for those type of people, in DA we help each other out, not abuse and disrespect each other.

:bulletred: Don't get into unnecessary fights, arguments and flame wars with people you really don't need to start trouble with. Just be yourself and be cool, don't be the image people hate to see.

:bulletred: And Finally don't stalk people, that is like commenting on every Deviation, sending them notes everyday, replying to all their Forum Threads, they will just feel creepy and might block you to Oblivion. Unless they are your friends then it is okay :iconlaugh-plz:

So that is it Folks, thanks for reading and I hope you benefited from a point or two. This Journal is aimed to the newly undiscovered deviants, if you are a Hardcore Metalcore Deviant then you don't need this, but thanks for reading and being Awesome! ^^

Wish you all the best and good luck!

After reading this for a second time I have a suggestion to add: Don't forget to take the time to Thank the Deviants for adding you to their Faves, Badges, Collections, etc. Add people to your Friends List - You might just see something really cool along the way.

And for those I haven't been able to get back to, yet, I am furiously working on that!

A lot of this you can even relate to real life. For those who want to be serious artist. Getting out there and talking to people. Finding anime groups out there at school. Comic con, Anime con ordeals.
I always find it funny when agront people think thier art is just amazing. When typicaly is isn't, but meh, everyone has there own tast of art.

I don' know who to ask but what is that Liama badge and what is it for?

It's a good thread for begginers, if I only see this couple years ago. :D

Well that's one from the badges here and it's the only badge that's free .. You can send it by going to some of the deviants profile, click on the tab where it says 'Give', click on 'Give a Llama Badge', type in your password and click on 'Give' :D .. There, i hope this was helpful to you.. I also gave you a llama badge while i was explaining to you :D

Of course,

- Try drawing Fanarts, I know they are controversial as being overlooked by Master Critics and Artists, but it is not wrong. So yeah, draw your favorite Book, Movie, or Show.

- CONTESTS! Contests are very good way to get huge amount of exposure, even if you didn't win you will still be viewed by the other participators and you will be listed in the Contest's entires. And if YOU DID WIN, then you will have a lot of new followers.

- Never Give up, always seek more people and learn and improve. Some people win popularity in a year, others take them a good 6 years to be well known around DA for their Art!

Always be positive! :)

ummmm...ok....
I've been drawing fanarts since I joined, even mixing two or more characters for fun....

I've joined multiple contests, and failed at all of them...

and i'm almost giving up on my art since it's somehow pointless and bleak...

and practice and passion doesn't work on me either....

So long story short: been there, done that, bruised a lot for nothing

is there any hope for me after what I said? I'm sorry, it's just it's been 5 months and nobody still respects me in dA...hell everyone hates my art even when I try to improve myself, so that's why I just stop making art 'coz it's pointless for me to even do art! So I just cheer for my friends from the sidelines...you know, just seeing them achieve makes me happy; but I want that kind of achievement too! I want it soooo bad!! But almost everyone who sees my art hates it...any suggestions for me to at least be respected in this place?(if in any case you say photography-tried it and failed...HARD! As for literature, ummm.... as you can observe, I have the worse sense of grammar!)

Check when I joined Deviantart, check my art and finally check how many watchers I got on my profile. You will realize that not everybody gets noticed easily, you are not alone :)

I saw your gallery, YOU CAN DRAW, your only problem is that you maybe don't know WHAT to draw. So browse DA and see what people mostly draw:

Dragons
Ponies
Fantasy
Monsters
Artists Portraits

oh thank you for saying that...but let's be frank here, I know what I'm talking about when I say I CAN'T DRAW! Lack of proper proportions, low quality coloring, and just plain BLAH for the facial features...you of all people should notice that...I guess you're good nature is getting the best of your critical judgement.

Besides...I hate ponies (sorry for the bronies) and I'm still mastering how to do draw pyramidhead, Asphyxia and other monsters that I need for my cyber-steampunk fan art, so yeah...so far- THEY ALL FUCKING SUCK LIKE HELL! As for the artist's portraits...ummm, have you seen my Patrick Stump?! FUCK HELL NEEDS TO BE BURNED!!

So....yeah...I'm guessing I know what to draw...just maybe....God hates me or sumthin' like that (you have any prescription to that maybe?). Besides, at least you know how to speed paint in a tablet or computer...I couldn't color right with pencils...

So, finding a subject ain't the problem....any other diagnosis there doctor?

*FYI- you know you could ignore me if you want too...I'm guessing this conversation would just lead you to a dead end...hehe. How many people tried to help me, but they all left me behind, 'coz it's a proven fact that it's impossible to help me and such...you can ask my friends if you want to prove that fact...*
